Katie & Sam – Moxhull Hall Wedding Photographer

I first met Katie and Sam at their best friends’ wedding the year before. During the evening, Katie came over to chat about me photographing her big day. Now, I like to tell everyone it was because she was so impressed with my work… but it might also have been helped by a few bottles of wine! Either way, a few weeks later, they booked me, and I couldn’t have been happier.

Shooting a wedding for a couple who already know your style and vibe is always special, and it was great catching up with familiar faces from that previous wedding too.

Katie and Sam chose the beautiful Moxhull Hall in Birmingham,  a venue that always delivers on charm and atmosphere. In the lead up, Katie became my biggest Instagram fan and DM queen; by the time the day came, it honestly felt like I was turning up to photograph a friend’s wedding.

The morning prep was exactly as I expected,  full of laughter, high energy, and the absolute star of the room, Katie’s nan, keeping everyone in stitches. Over with the boys, things were a little more chilled after a few cheeky beers the night before.

The couple had planned for an outdoor ceremony, and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect,  the earlier rain passed, leaving us with soft light and a warm breeze. As Sam nervously waited at the top of the aisle, Katie arrived with her signature beaming smile,  that energy she’d carried all morning had turned into pure happiness.

After a beautiful ceremony, it was time for drinks on the lawn, with guests soaking up the last of the summer sun. The speeches followed, Sam kicked things off with great humour, the best man delivered some epic stories, but the maid of honour stole the show with a heartfelt and emotional finish.

As the evening rolled in, sparklers lit up the courtyard, followed by an epic first dance and a live band that absolutely rocked the marquee. The dance floor was packed, the energy was high, and it was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Katie and Sam’s wedding had everything I love — energy, emotion, laughter, and moments that felt truly them.
