Bourton Hall Wedding Photographer | Trish & Dean
After two Zoom calls with Trish and Dean, I was genuinely excited for their wedding day. They just had such a lovely energy about them, and Trish had the most infectious smile. Their plans sounded like everything I love about weddings, great family, amazing friends and a relaxed atmosphere where everyone could simply enjoy the day together.
Bourton Hall Magic
From the moment I arrived, it was obvious the day was going to be everything I'd imagined.
Some of Trish's friends were out in the gardens doing yoga, which certainly isn't something you see at every wedding! Inside, the atmosphere was just brilliant. The bridesmaids were full of laughter and excitement, and Trish somehow had even more energy than I'd expected. The whole bridal suite was absolutely bouncing.
Meanwhile, Dean arrived looking remarkably calm alongside his two best men. Judging by the conversations, the combined wedding experience between them was fairly limited, which always makes for some entertaining moments. I'm pretty sure one of the best men had never even worn a waistcoat before! Thankfully, they managed to get themselves ready and, more importantly, enjoy a couple of well earned cold beers on what turned out to be an incredibly hot summer's day.
As the beers flowed and guests began arriving, the excitement upstairs continued to build. The room was filled with those wonderful getting ready moments that make wedding mornings so special, followed by the big reveal to Trish's mum and bridesmaids. It's always one of my favourite parts of the day. There were a few tears, lots of hugs, but even more laughter. It had already been such a lovely morning.
Bourton Hall Chapel
Because the girls were running beautifully ahead of schedule, I headed down to Bourton Hall's chapel to photograph guests arriving. Straight away it was clear this was going to be a lively crowd. Everywhere I looked there were smiles, laughter and people genuinely excited to celebrate with Trish and Dean. As a wedding photographer, happy, relaxed guests are always a huge win.
Then came the ceremony.
As Trish walked into the chapel, her smile completely lit up the room. I honestly don't think my photographs will ever fully do justice to just how much positive energy she brings wherever she goes. The way she looked at Dean said absolutely everything. It was one of those moments where you couldn't help but smile behind the camera.
There was even a moment during the ceremony that prompted a huge cheer from all the bridesmaids, which brought even more personality into what was already such a heartfelt ceremony.
Bourton Halls Stunning Grounds
With the "I do's" complete, everyone made their way outside for drinks on the lawn. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, and guests spent the afternoon laughing, catching up and making the most of the sunshine.
As everyone was called into the wedding breakfast, I noticed the most incredible shaft of light pouring through one of the windows. I knew instantly it would create something really special, so while the guests found their seats, we stole just a few quiet seconds to create one of my favourite portraits of the day. Then, as I was stepping away, Trish and Dean shared a completely natural embrace, thinking nobody was watching. Luckily, there was one slightly sneaky photographer nearby to capture that beautiful little moment forever.
The speeches brought exactly what you'd hope for plenty of laughter, a few emotional moments and some fantastic stories. One moment that really stood out was the heartfelt words shared between Trish and her brother. It was one of those genuine family moments that reminds you what weddings are really all about.
With the formalities complete, it was time for a complete transformation.
A High Energy Evening at Bourton Hall
The couple changed from their traditional English wedding attire into stunning traditional Indian outfits, filling the evening with even more colour and excitement. I absolutely love this part of multicultural weddings. The colours are incredible, the traditions are so meaningful and the energy is simply contagious.
The evening celebrations began with traditional Indian drummers leading the couple onto the dance floor. It was such an amazing entrance. The cheers from family and friends echoed around the room as everyone gathered to welcome them.
And then... the dance floor exploded.
It was absolutely packed. The energy was unbelievable, the dancing was relentless and, whilst there were certainly a few questionable dance moves along the way, that's exactly what made it so much fun. Watching everyone completely lose themselves in the celebrations was the perfect way to end an incredible day.
Trish and Dean, thank you both for trusting me to capture such an amazing wedding. It was everything I hoped it would be full of laughter, full of love and filled with the kind of memories that remind me why I absolutely love being a wedding photographer.
I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together.
