Heather & Martin – A Relaxed Summer Wedding at Moxhull Hall

When Heather and Martin first got in touch, they were clear about one thing, they didn’t want their wedding to feel overly posed or structured. They were looking for natural, unobtrusive photography that captured the real story of their day.

Set in the stunning grounds of Moxhull Hall, one of my favourite venues for outdoor ceremonies, their wedding was filled with relaxed energy, sunshine, and emotional moments that were a joy to capture.

A Gentle Start to the Day

The early afternoon had an incredibly calm and easy going vibe. Martin spent time relaxing with his children in the gardens, while Heather shared some laughs and quiet moments with her friends in the bridal suite. The weather was absolutely perfect, warm, bright, and ideal for the outdoor ceremony the couple had dreamed of.

Outdoor Ceremony in a Woodland Setting

Moxhull Hall’s outdoor ceremony space is something special, a beautifully private area surrounded by floral woodland, offering a peaceful and naturally stunning setting to say "I do." Guests began arriving early, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a cheeky drink or two before the formalities began.

One emotional highlight of the day came just before the ceremony, when Heather’s uncle arrived to walk her down the aisle. There were a few tears (from both of them), while the bridesmaids kept spirits high with excitement and laughter.

Meanwhile, Martin waited quietly at the top of the aisle, gathering his thoughts as the guests chatted and joked in anticipation. The short walk from the main venue to the ceremony space creates a lovely procession, giving everyone that magical transition from pre-wedding buzz to heartfelt celebration.

A Ceremony Full of Feeling

The ceremony itself was personal and heartfelt. Martin just managed to hold back the tears, and the smiles all around made it clear how much this moment meant to everyone there. After the vows, the newlyweds and their guests flowed back into the gardens for a relaxed drinks reception.

The couple had arranged live music, so with gentle tunes, sunshine, canapés, and a drink in hand, it was the perfect setting for guests to unwind and celebrate.

Portraits and Golden Light

Although Heather and Martin weren’t keen on too many posed photos, we took a short walk around the grounds to get a few relaxed portraits. Nothing too staged, just natural moments in beautiful light, with the couple enjoying a bit of quiet time together.

Evening Vibes and Dance Floor Magic

After the wedding breakfast and some heartfelt speeches, the evening kicked off with a brilliant surprise—Irish dancers! This was a real highlight, sparking energy across the room and getting guests straight onto the dance floor.

From that point on, the party didn’t slow down. Music, laughter, and some seriously questionable (but highly enthusiastic!) dance moves filled the space. As I packed up late into the night, the dance floor was still bouncing—exactly how it should be.
