Katie & Charlie’s Wedding at The Cotswold House Hotel - The Cotswold House Hotel wedding photographer.

Katie & Charlie’s wedding at The Cotswold House Hotel was one of those days that reminded me how lucky I am with the couples who book me. Honestly, I feel like I start every blog by saying that,  but it’s true. After just two Zoom calls with Katie and Charlie, I knew their wedding was going to be something special. Their plans, their excitement, and their high energy were exactly the kind of vibe I love working with — and the day didn’t disappoint.

A wedding morning of tears and excitement

I always think bridal prep sets the tone for the day, and when I arrived, the atmosphere was already buzzing. One of Katie’s bridesmaids had written her a poem, which had the whole bridal squad in equal measures of tears and laughter. Emotions kept running high during the dress reveal , and what a dress it was. I’m a big lover of wedding dresses, and Katie’s was just epic.

A Beautiful Ceremony at Leek Wootton Church

With the girls almost ready, I headed off to meet Charlie at Leek Wootton Church. The cool, calm guy I’d met on Zoom was feeling the nerves,  so much so that he forgot to lock his house and had to send a groomsman back! Luckily, he had a big crew around him to keep him distracted, between finishing touches, checking the Lions’ score, and welcoming guests, Charlie had enough distractions.

Katie made her arrival in a super cool off-road  style mustard coloured Land Rover,  not the easiest vehicle to climb out of in a wedding dress, but with a bit of teamwork from her dad and bridesmaids, she was soon ready for her aisle walk. As often happens, it was Charlie who couldn’t hold back the emotions, while Katie walked in with smiles, laughter, Charlie's nerves soon turned in to an arrange of emotion.

Capturing Natural & Candid Moments at The Cotswold House Hotel

After the ceremony, it was time to celebrate back at The Cotswold House Hotel. Katie and Charlie wanted a chilled vibe, and they nailed it: a sax player, garden games, flowing drinks, and sunshine that couldn’t have been more perfect. A huge shoutout has to go to their bridesmaids and groomsmen,  both sides brought so much warmth, energy, and togetherness to the day. From group shots to smoke bomb fun, it felt like being part of the best family gathering ever.

The wedding breakfast soon followed, and after hearing the church readings, I knew the speeches would deliver. They were the perfect mix of humour and heartfelt emotion, with the best man in particular bringing plenty of laughs.

As evening fell, the party turned up a notch. Katie and Charlie had arranged a surprise ABBA-style act, who had everyone singing along and showing off their dance moves. This is exactly why I always stay until after 10pm — moments like this are just too good to miss.

Before I left, I grabbed the couple for a quick champagne spray to end the night on a high. I drove away buzzing, already excited to look through the images — because this wedding was every bit as fun as I’d hoped it would be.
