Sarah & Ben’s Wedding at Bourton Hall – Bourton Hall Wedding Photographer
A Fun, High-Energy Day Full of Laughter
Sarah and Ben’s wedding at Bourton Hall was everything you’d want from a wedding day — full of energy, laughter, emotion, and some seriously memorable moments.
The couple chose my full media package, which includes photography, videography, and a photobooth. It’s always a great choice for couples who want to capture every angle of their day, not just the big moments, but all the fun in between too.
Finding the Right Fit
I always say this, but finding the right couples is just as important as the photography itself. From Sarah’s very first email, I knew we’d be a great match. Her personality came through straight away, relaxed, fun, and full of energy, which is exactly the kind of wedding day I love to be part of.
Like many couples getting married at Bourton Hall, Sarah and Ben were drawn to my natural, documentary style, but they also loved the couple portraits I’d created at the venue before. Because of that, they asked for a little extra time for their portraits — something I’m seeing more and more.
Why More Couples Are Choosing Longer Portrait Time
Traditionally, couples get aroind 15 minutes for portraits, but more are now opting for 20 minutes or slightly longer. It gives you a chance to step away from the chaos of the day, take a breather, and actually enjoy a bit of time together.
I always promise not to turn it into a long, awkward photoshoot, and in most cases, couples actually enjoy that time. It’s relaxed, natural, and often one of the few quiet moments you get all day.
Morning Preparations – Energy from the Start
Sarah’s morning started early, and by the time I arrived, the energy was already in full swing. She was surrounded by a brilliant group of friends, and the laughter was constant. One standout moment was the now-iconic nickname “cone head” , which I’m hoping has stuck well beyond the wedding day!
Over on the other side, the groomsmen had a slightly calmer start… focusing on getting ready and sampling some whiskey. Whether it was “impressive” or not is up for debate, but the photos definitely tell a story!
A Ceremony Full of Emotion
The ceremony itself was full of smiles, laughter, and some genuinely emotional moments. You could see straight away how much Sarah and Ben mean to each other, the kind of connection that makes documenting a wedding like this so rewarding.
Confetti, Sunshine & Bourton Hall at Its Best
After the ceremony, it was time for the confetti throw, always one of my favourite moments to capture. We were lucky with the weather too, with the sun making a perfect appearance and showing Bourton Hall at its absolute best.
Guests then had time to enjoy the grounds, although “relaxing” quickly turned into cartwheels from the kids… which didn’t take long to inspire a few of the adults. By his third drink, Ben was even showing off some old school gymnastics moves, unfortunately not quite making it into the wedding breakfast entrance!
Speeches That Hit Every Emotion
The speeches were a perfect mix of humour and heartfelt moments. A real highlight was Sarah’s sister getting involved, I always love when bridesmaids play an active role, as it adds a different perspective and makes things even more personal.
Sunset Portraits at Bourton Hall
As the sun began to set, we headed out for the couple portraits Sarah and Ben had asked for, and they were absolutely worth it.
Whether it was the perfect light, the energy of the day, or just how naturally they are together, everything flowed. The result was a set of relaxed, natural portraits that really reflect them as a couple.
First Dance & A Packed Dancefloor
The first dance didn’t disappoint either. Sarah and Ben brought great energy, adding a few spins and twirls before everyone joined them on the dancefloor.
From there, the evening turned into a full-on party, live music, plenty of questionable dance moves, and a photobooth that was in constant use.
A Day to Remember
From start to finish, this was one of those weddings that just felt effortless, full of personality, laughter, and genuine moments.
The photobooth images alone are an absolute highlight, and combined with the photography and videography, Sarah and Ben now have a complete set of memories to look back on for years to come.
It was an absolute pleasure to be part of such an incredibly fun day at Bourton Hall.
