If you ever needed proof that weather doesn’t matter on your wedding day, Cheri and Nathan’s Meadow Barn wedding in Stratford-upon-Avon is the perfect example. With Storm Amy swirling around us all day, you’d expect chaos, but instead, it was pure joy, laughter, and one of the best atmospheres I’ve photographed this year.
A Wedding Morning Full of Buzz, Bridesmaids & Beautiful Chaos
The day began with Cheri surrounded by what felt like a small army of bridesmaids, buzzing around, laughing, and occasionally shedding a few happy tears. The colour palette was unreal: a mix of burnt autumn oranges in different dress styles. I’m loving the 2025 trend of mixed dresses in the same tone, everyone looks comfortable, confident, and the photos look incredible.
While the girls enjoyed the morning excitement, Nathan was putting together the final touches before guests arrived. And arrive they did, smiling, windswept, but full of excitement as the storm hit full force right on schedule.
At the top of the aisle, Nathan stood with his grooms people, doing an excellent job at keeping the nerves at bay… or at least hiding them well.
A Stormy Entrance with Style
When Cheri arrived, the rain was hammering down, umbrellas were fighting the wind, but honestly, it added drama and magic to the photos. I grabbed some beautifully shots of the bridal party making their way into the barn, wind, rain, laughter and all.
The ceremony itself was lovely, full of smiles, soft moments, and lots of emotion from both Cheri and Nathan and their guests.
The Wildest Confetti Tunnel
Despite the weather (or maybe because of it), they decided to brave the storm for a confetti throw. Wind + confetti = absolute brilliance. It was quick, hilarious, and totally unforgettable.
Everyone dashed back inside for warmth, drinks, and live music, which I’m a huge fan of. There’s nothing like a live singer to lift the atmosphere, and with everyone gathered close together because of the rain, it created a genuinely special moment.
Wedding Breakfast, Speeches & Some Fantastic One-Liners
Soon it was time for speeches. Nathan’s speech had some cracking one liners, followed by a joint speech from his best friends, a perfect mix of humour, memories, and genuine admiration.
Then, with the wind still blowing, Cheri and Nathan decided to head out for a couple of quick portraits. The trees were glowing a beautiful yellow, and even though the wind was doing its best to restyle Cheri’s hair, it was so worth it.
Party Time: Sax, DJ & A Very Special Surprise
Back inside, it was time to crank things up. The couple had arranged a sax player and DJ combo, and the dance floor instantly came alive. The vibe was incredible, the kind of energy that makes you forget there’s a storm battering the world outside.
But the best moment of the night?
A surprise song created for Cheri’s dad. written with the help of AI and performed during the sax set. It was emotional, fun, and the perfect finale to an unforgettable evening.
