Hannah & Jack's Wedding at Thorpe Garden -

Morning Set up at Thorpe Garden's
I was really looking forward to Hannah and Jack's wedding at Thorpe Garden. They seemed like exactly the kind of relaxed couple I love spending the day with, and there was some added excitement for me too, as it was my first time photographing at Thorpe Garden. I had heard great things about the venue, so I couldn't wait to see it for myself.
When I arrived, it was immediately clear that Hannah was in full control. She was overseeing boxes of decorations, details, and all the little touches that make a wedding unique. Thankfully, she had come prepared with supportive parents and an army of groomsmen. Jack had definitely chosen wisely, as his team seemed completely on board with following Hannah's instructions and making sure everything was exactly as she wanted it.
As the final details were being put into place, I headed over to the house where both bridal and groom preparations were happening. Bridal prep was exactly what you'd expect, hair, makeup, excitement, and plenty of chatter. Groom prep, meanwhile, consisted mainly of watching cricket and filling up hip flasks. Both equally important parts of wedding preparation, obviously.
I should also mention that the flower girl had taken on the role of my assistant for the morning. To be fair, she did a fantastic job, and I sincerely hope her pocket money got doubled after all her hard work.
A buzzing Thorpe Gardens Ceremony Room
Before the ceremony, the atmosphere around Thorpe Garden was fantastic. Everywhere you looked, guests were chatting, laughing, and enjoying themselves. It was clear this was shaping up to be a very special day.
The ceremony itself was full of emotion, and not just when Hannah walked down the aisle. One of my favourite moments was hearing the readings from the children, which were delivered brilliantly and added a really personal touch to the ceremony.
Once the ceremony was finished, we headed outside. A quick rain shower passed over, but thankfully it didn't hang around for long. In fact, it left us with perfect wedding photography weather, slightly cloudy, not too hot, and ideal for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves.
There was joy and laughter everywhere. Days like this are perfect for me because I can simply step back and capture people being themselves. The smiles, the hugs, the conversations, and all those little moments that tell the real story of the day.
Thorpe Gardens Wedding Breakfast
Before long, it was time for the wedding breakfast. Hannah's mum had arranged a surprise, and thankfully I got a heads up just in time. As a waitress dramatically collapsed right in front of me, the singing waiters suddenly revealed themselves and got the party started.
I absolutely love singing waiters. They always bring an incredible burst of energy to the day just when everyone thinks they're settling down after dinner. The singing, dancing, and conga line had everyone on their feet and laughing. It was impossible not to get caught up in the fun.
Before that, of course, came the speeches. With everyone fully warmed up by this point, it was time for plenty of laughter, lots of smiles, and a few more tears from Hannah's sister. By the end of the day, she was getting dangerously close to my personal best record for the most tears shed at a wedding.
As the formalities began to wind down, everyone headed back outside for a few more drinks and a chance to enjoy the beautiful grounds of Thorpe Garden before the final official events of the day.
First came Hannah and her dad opening the dance floor, followed by Hannah and Jack. The dancing was fantastic, but what happened next was even better. The dance floor absolutely exploded into life. The singing waiters had clearly done their job because everybody was ready to dance from the very first song.
The dance floor stayed busy all evening, and the atmosphere never dropped. It was one of those weddings where happiness seemed to follow you wherever you looked.
Thorpe Garden proved to be every bit as impressive as I'd hoped. From the beautiful ceremony space to the stunning grounds and relaxed atmosphere, it was the perfect setting for Hannah and Jack's day.
What a fantastic wedding. Full of laughter, emotion, great people, and so much genuine happiness. Exactly the sort of day that reminds me why I love this job so much.
Hannah and Jack, thank you for letting me be part of such an incredible day. It was an absolute pleasure.
