Marianne & Rob – Swallows Nest Barn Wedding Photography

An exciting more at Swallows Nest Barn

All weddings get me excited , but when a couple adds their own twist to the day, it makes things even better. Marianne and Rob’s wedding at Swallows Nest Barn in Warwickshire was packed with personality, laughter, and emotion from start to finish.

When Marianne first told me her plan to help calm Rob’s nerves before the ceremony, I knew we were in for something special (and hilarious). She’d suggested doing a first look ,  a lovely, intimate moment for most couples. The only catch? The “bride” Rob would be turning around to see wasn’t Marianne at all, but one of his mates dressed head-to-toe in a wedding dress!

I set up the moment so they’d start by holding hands before the big reveal. Rob didn’t seem to notice that his “bride’s” hands were a bit bigger than normal , we’ll put that down to nerves, When he finally turned around to see his friend, standing proudly in a full white gown, the reaction was priceless. The laughter that followed set the tone for a day full of warmth, fun, and joy.

When it came to the real ceremony, Marianne looked absolutely stunning as she entered the barn with a full veil. Her mum lifted it perfectly, revealing a beaming bride and a very relieved groom.

After the ceremony, guests spilled out into the courtyard for drinks and canapés under the sunshine. Swallows Nest court yard  has the most incredible atmosphere, that enclosed courtyard gives such a cosy, celebratory feel.

Later in the day, Marianne and Rob took a quiet walk down to the stream for a private moment together. They shared their personal vows alone, which was such a touching, emotional part of the day and gave me a chance to capture some truly meaningful photos.

Their dog also popped by for a few photos,  though, like most dogs, he had his own ideas about what to do,  It made for some fun, candid moments that perfectly reflected the couple’s easy going energy.

The speeches were a brilliant mix of humour and heartfelt emotion, with plenty of laughs all around the room. Then, as the sun began to set, the golden light poured across the fields,  giving us one last chance for some stunning evening portraits.

Marianne and Rob had organised a free bar for the evening, which always guarantees a great party atmosphere. And sure enough, the dance floor was buzzing well into the night, the perfect ending to an incredible day.
