A Day of Pure Joy at Church Farm Brewery
Jo & Wren’s Epic Vow Renewal
Church Farm isn’t just another venue – it’s something special. It has a unique warmth to it, created by the amazing team behind it. Being there doesn’t feel like you're at a wedding venue… it feels like you’re getting married in a family home.
So when Jo and Ren asked me to photograph and video their wedding vow renewal, I felt genuinely privileged. They are part of the magic that makes Church Farm what it is, so I knew their day would be full of warmth, fun, and unforgettable energy.
And wow, did the day deliver.
Morning Chaos (The Best Kind)
Let’s start with the morning prep. Jo – lovingly known as “Queenie” ( by myself ) – kicked things off with the biggest bridal prep party I’ve ever witnessed. Fourteen bridesmaids. Yes, fourteen! I doubt that record will ever be beaten.
As you can imagine, 14 lively women in one room created next-level energy, banter, and gossip. To keep things under control (at least for the first part of the day), Jo cleverly swapped the usual prosecco for no-secco. Smart move. She’d also arranged what I can only describe as the most epic wedding morning brunch spread I’ve ever seen. Seriously impressive.
The day was already shaping up perfectly – sunshine was on the cards, there was a magician booked, surprise singing waiters lined up, and yes, a free bar all day. Every ingredient for an electric celebration.
Oh, and the vicar? He was happily sipping pints in between delivering a cheeky set of personalised vows. Classic Tap Yard.
By mid-morning, the cuddly vibes were flowing, excitement was building, and Jo’s bridesmaids were practically bouncing off the walls about making their grand entrance… on the back of a trailer, of course. After rallying Wren into a group photo (and launching him into the air a few times for good measure), he made a quick escape to the safety of the man-shed until showtime.
Trailers, Group Hugs & Bridal Mayhem
Then came the big entrance. Fourteen bridesmaids – now a few drinks in, they danced their way from the trailer straight into the Tap Yard, greeted by cheers and applause from the gathered guests.
The Quickest Ceremony (Because Parties Wait for No One)
The ceremony itself? Short and sweet. This wasn’t about the formality – it was about the celebration. And with the sun beaming down, guests laughing, drinks flowing, and a magician weaving through the crowd, the whole atmosphere just felt magical.
As I said, this was an easy one to shoot – everyone was there for a great time.
Surprise Singing Waiters & Dance-Off Drama
Now let’s talk about those singing waiters. Not only did they deliver the usual hanky-waving, singalong fun, but they also kicked things up a notch by throwing in a few cheeky games. The losing team (a group of unsuspecting men) were roped into a full-on dance-off – and I could definitely feel their pain!
By now, the beer was really flowing, and just about everyone had hit the dance floor. A few brave guests even grabbed the mic and belted out some tunes – the perfect way to wrap up the day’s formalities before heading into the evening.
Evening Wedding Fun Kicks in
As I mentioned earlier, the weather was stunning. Church Farm is unbeatable when the sun’s out – the views are just incredible. I snuck the couple away for a quick photoshoot (because let’s be honest, everyone wants a killer Insta shot, right?). A few golden-hour snaps later, and it was time to settle in for an epic sunset and get the dancefloor ready for a night of full-on partying.
With a beer in hand and the camera being passed around between guests, I took five minutes to sit back, breathe it all in, and just enjoy the atmosphere of what had been an absolutely unforgettable day.
If you’re planning a wedding that’s more about celebration than structure, and you want somewhere that feels like home with a wild heart – Church Farm is the place.
Jo and Ren, thank you for letting me be part of your day. You reminded me what it’s all about – laughter, love, and a little bit of chaos.
