Lorna & Will’s Fun-Filled Wedding at Stanford Farm
Finding Their Photographer by Chance
Lorna and Will actually found me by chance. They’d visited a wedding venue they didn’t end up booking, but they remembered my photos , and luckily for me, they got in touch and asked me to capture their day.
Bridal Prep at Stanford Farm
From the moment I arrived at Stanford Farm, I knew this was going to be special. Lorna greeted me with her infectious excitement, the kind of pure wedding day buzz I love to capture. This is exactly why I avoid stiff posing and staged shots; the real energy and emotion of the day is always far better.
Her bridesmaids, determined to match Lorna’s energy, admitted they’d started on Red Bull and Monster early doors… though I don’t think anyone was ever going to keep up with her that day!
Downstairs, the boys were far more concerned with setting up Mario Kart than any of the usual wedding morning stresses. With no speeches planned, Will seemed pretty relaxed, his main focus was deciding which whisky should be opened first.
This wedding definitely had a few firsts for me. The first came when Will gatecrashed bridal prep to get his hair done, instantly sparking envy from all the bridesmaids. Once his hair was sorted, he opened the whisky while the girls opened the bubbles.
A Ceremony with a Twist
The couple wanted their day to be super relaxed with very few formalities, it was all about celebrating their way. Even Leia, their family dog, was given a starring role as ring-bearer. Lorna also planned two first looks, one with her dad and one with Leia.
The first look with her dad was emotional (Lorna had predicted tears, and she was right). Leia’s first look was less successful… the treats in the kitchen were a little more tempting than pre-wedding cuddles!
For the ceremony, Lorna’s brother had the honour of officiating. Unsure of how best to deliver it, he decided on three mini ceremonies, which the guests absolutely loved. Leia trotted down the aisle with the rings, the couple shared more happy tears, and before long they were unofficially married.
Sunshine, Drinks and Fun Group Photos
The sunshine held beautifully, giving everyone the chance to enjoy a relaxed afternoon of drinks and laughter. Meanwhile, Lorna and her wedding party created some brilliantly fun group photos (including very enthusiastic swing images!).
A Relaxed Wedding Breakfast
Instead of a formal sit-down meal, guests were treated to a stunning sharing platter feast. Tequila shots were lined up for Lorna, and with no speeches scheduled, the party atmosphere kept rolling. There was more Mario Kart, plenty of drinks, and some romantic couple photos before the evening entertainment began.
Silent Disco Wedding Vibes
.The evening included a heartfelt father daughter dance, followed by a surprise first dance from Lorna and Will (though Will’s lasted around 20 seconds before we headed outside for some champagne spray fun!). What started as one bottle ended up being many, and the photos were worth every drop.
The silent disco was an absolute highlight. Lorna showed off her stunning dress, Will played the perfect supporting act, and the dance floor was alive with colour, and laughter
Marshmallows by the Fire to End the Night
The night ended perfectly with marshmallows toasted over the fire, laughter in the air, and the couple surrounded by friends and family.
This wedding had it all — excitement, fun, emotion, and a whole lot of personality. Exactly the kind of day I love to capture.
