Martin & Vinnie's Compton Verney Wedding Photography.

One wedding, a horse-drawn carriage, a chopper, and three (count them, three) ceremonies!

Martin and Vinnie had big plans for their special day,  They had a lot to fit in and timings were always going to be tight.  Martin’s family is Iranian,  Vinnie’s Indian and they were getting married at Compton Verney in Warwickshire.  So naturally they wanted three weddings in one day – Persian, Hindu and English – with champagne receptions, afternoon teas and dancing included!

Vinnie had her bridal prep in a stunning four-poster bedroom at nearby Walton Hall and the couple wanted a photoshoot in the morning in their wedding outfits.  The pictures of Vinnie coming down the staircase to meet her groom in the most beautiful dress were so natural – the expression on their faces really captured the excitement and the love of the day.

We then had some more photos with the bride and groom in the horse-drawn carriage just before the weather took a slight turn for the worse.

The bride and her maids arrive at the venue

The entrance to the venue is stunning – a long drive leads to this Grade I Georgian mansion with its impressive staircases at the front and the most beautiful gardens at the back looking on to 120 acres of parklands.

The weather wasn’t the best, but Vinnie’s arrival was wonderfully impressive as the carriage came over the bridge towards Compton Verney and drew to a stop outside the main entrance.

However – she may have been slightly outshone by the groom and his family who arrived and landed on the lawns in a helicopter!

Ceremony number one – the Persian one

The family had spent months making the traditional table decorations – it’s an important part of the service and it really did look beautiful. After the ceremony, the couple fed each other honey from their fingers – it’s an ancient Iranian tradition – and it made for some super original photos.

Talking of interesting photos, during the shoot afterwards (we took some lovely photos on that stunning bridge), Vinnie’s veil blew off, landed in the river and had to be retrieved!

(As I said, the weather wasn’t the best).

There was a big afternoon tea in the Gallery to follow with speeches and lots of laughter – and while Martin and Vinnie took a spin around the grounds in the carriage, their guests had some time to look around the art gallery and grounds, a welcome bit of leisure time in an otherwise super busy day.

Ceremony number two – the English one

The English service took place in Compton Verneys Chapel with a string quintet playing, and although the bride and groom were already married by this point, Vinnie was (in true English tradition) 20 minutes late.

Martin was definitely more nervous in the build-up to this ceremony than he had been for the first!

Ceremony number three – the Hindu one

And so on to the Hindu celebrations! This included the full Wedding Breakfast and some colourful traditional Bhangra dancers, after which the female guests embarked on another tradition – passing the cake knife around the room, teasing the groom with it and refusing to let him have it until he handed over money.

We were running seriously behind time by now which isn’t unusual at all when it comes to multi-national ceremonies. I do a lot of them (but to be honest, it is usually only two ceremonies) and no matter how much planning goes into them, it’s almost impossible to stick to a tight schedule.

So, the decision was made – fireworks before dancing!

No one wanted to miss out on the fireworks, so they made their way outside for a fantastic display. The couple finally had their first dance at 11.30 pm before everyone joined them on the dance floor.

Congratulations Martin and Vinnie – it was a spectacular (if insanely busy day), but great great fun was had by all!
